It is extremely important for every working individual to plan their retirement. We all should arrange for a regular fund either during our job or work tenure for post-retirement. The best option for accumulating funds for retirement in India is the Employee Provident Fund (EPF), also known as the Employee’s Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). It is managed by EPFO, and a portion of your salary is deposited into it every month. In this regard, it is essential to know how to check your EPF account balance.
There are four options to check your EPF balance online.
- Missed Call: If you have registered and activated your Universal Account Number (UAN) on the EPFO portal and completed your KYC, you can give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number. After two rings, the call will automatically disconnect, and you will receive a message with your EPF balance details.
- Send an SMS: By registering your UAN with EPFO and sending a message to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number, you can receive your EPF balance details.
- EPFO Online Portal: The new EPFO online portal provides a convenient way to view your PF passbook. To access this feature, visit the EPFO website, go to the “Our Services” section, click on the “For Employees” option, select “Services” and then click on “Member Passbook.” Enter your UAN and password to view your passbook.
- Umang Mobile Application: The government has introduced the Umang app to simplify the process of checking your EPF balance. Along with viewing your passbook, the app allows you to raise and track claims easily.
By utilizing any of these options, you can keep track of your EPF balance and ensure a secure retirement plan.
