FASTag customers should complete their KYC (Know Your Customer) process today. Otherwise, they may face issues on February 1, 2024. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has urged FASTag customers to update their KYC by January 31, 2024. Although the deadline has not been extended yet, failing to do so may result in your FASTag being blacklisted, and you won’t be able to use the balance amount. The good news is that you can complete the KYC update process online.

fastag KYC through a phone call
If you have any questions related to FASTag, you can contact NHAI representatives at the toll-free helpline 1033. Most NHAI FASTags can be purchased at toll plazas. Once you have the FASTag, link it to your bank account and recharge the balance. You can refill FASTag with a minimum of ₹100 and a maximum of ₹1 lakh.
NHAI started the “One Vehicle, One FASTag” campaign to improve the electronic toll collection system and maintain smooth traffic flow at toll plazas. As of January 15, 2024, the aim is to enhance the electronic toll collection system and manage traffic flow efficiently. The program also addresses issues such as issuing multiple FASTags for a single vehicle and releasing FASTags without proper KYC, leading NHAI to take corrective actions. Instances where FASTags are deliberately removed from the vehicle’s windshield causing delays at toll booths and inconvenience to other drivers on national highways have also been noted.
