Go First (Formerly Known as Go Air) Receives DGCA Approval to Resume Operations with Conditions

The debt-ridden airline company “Go First” has been granted permission by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to resume its operations. However, the DGCA has given this approval with certain conditions. The DGCA stated that after obtaining necessary funding and regulatory clearance for flight schedules, the airline will be allowed to start its flight operations.

The aviation regulator stated, “It is reported that Go First submitted its revival plan on 28th June, which the competent authority accepted after an inspection. However, this approval will depend on the outcome of pending petitions before the Delhi High Court and the NCLT Delhi Bench.”

Prior to this, on 19th July, after a special audit of its facilities in Delhi and Mumbai, Go First provided additional information as requested by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

Following the regulatory approval, the airline has decided to restart its operations with 15-18 aircraft and 130 flights daily. It plans to increase the number of flights to 160 daily with 22 aircraft in the following week.

As per the new guidelines issued by the DGCA, the airline will have to adhere to the following conditions to resume its operations:

  • Compliance with all regulatory requirements at all times to maintain the Air Operator Certificate.
  • Ensure the operational capability of the aircraft to be used for flights is consistently verified.
  • No aircraft will be allowed for flight without a satisfactory report on their airworthiness.
  • Any changes in the resolution plan affecting the company will be immediately reported to the DGCA.
