Market Update: Bulk Deals and Stake Acquisitions in Indian Companies – Recent Transactions and Trends

Bulk Deals: Private equity fund Ascent India Fund III, managed by Ascent Capital, has sold more than 6% stake in Radiant Cash Management Services through open market transactions on August 11. According to data available from wholesale deals on exchanges, Ascent India Fund has sold 6.765 million equity shares. This accounts for approximately 6.33% of the total equity in the cash management services company. These shares were sold at an average price of INR 105.55 per share. As of June 2023, the fund had an 18.08% stake in the company.

On the NSE, shares of Radiant Cash Management Services dropped by around 4% to reach INR 104.15.

Societe Generale under Bulk Deals purchased a half percent stake in RITES.

RITES was also in focus. European-based financial services group Societe Generale has purchased 12.2 lakh shares, representing slightly over 0.5% stake, in the government engineering services company at an average price of INR 475.4 per share. However, amid market correction, the stock dropped by 0.2% to INR 474.35.

On the day of listing, Societe Generale purchased 2 lakh shares, representing 1.04% stake, in solar energy supplier Oriana Power at an average price of INR 308.31 per share. Additionally, Vora Financial Services purchased 1.2 lakh shares in the company at an average price of INR 302 per share.

Oriana Power witnessed substantial buying interest early in its debut in the market, leading to a 169% increase in its share price to INR 317.

Simplex Infrastructures surged by 5.1%.

Simplex Infrastructures also experienced a significant increase in trading volume. The stock surged by 5.1% to reach INR 50.20. Its trading volume remained strong throughout the third session.

HDFC Mutual Fund sold 5 lakh shares of Simplex Infrastructures at an average price of INR 52.47 per share. Another 4.81 lakh shares were sold at an average price of INR 52.35 per share, accounting for a total of 1.7% of the equity.

HDFC Trustee Company Limited held an 8.84% stake in the company until June 2023 through HDFC Flexi Cap Fund and HDFC Infrastructure Fund.

However, ICM Financials purchased 3 lakh shares of Simplex Infrastructures at an average price of INR 52.49 per share. Maryada Barter purchased 4 lakh shares at an average price of INR 52.35 per share.

Vora Financial Services purchased additional stake in Vinsys under Bulk Deals.

On the listing day on NSE SME, there was significant buying interest in Vinsys IT Services India. Zinnia Global Fund and Sunflower Broking purchased an additional 1.3% stake in the IT skills and training services provider company.

Sunflower Broking purchased 1.5 lakh shares of Vinsys at an average price of INR 214.15 per share. Zinnia Global Fund PCC – Cell Dewcap Fund purchased 1 lakh shares at an average price of INR 217.6 per share.

Vora Financial Services also purchased 1.2 lakh shares of Vinsys at an average price of INR 207.25 per share.
